Visa Info & Requirements

1. Visa Types and Requirements


Tourist Visa (9A):

Purpose: For leisure travel, tourism, or visiting friends and relatives.. 

Visa Required: Nationals from countries not eligible for visa-free entry must obtain a tourist visa prior to arrival.


Requirements:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
  • Completed Visa Application Form: Accurately filled and signed.
  • Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a host in the Philippines.
  • Return/Onward Ticket: Evidence of departure from the Philippines.
  • Financial Proof: Bank statements demonstrating sufficient funds for the duration of the stay.
  • Visa Fee: As specified by the Philippine embassy or consulate.


Business Visa (9A):

Purpose: For attending business meetings, conferences, or other business-related activities.


Requirements:

  • Passport: Valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
  • Completed Visa Application Form: Accurately filled and signed.
  • Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a host in the Philippines.
  • Return/Onward Ticket: Evidence of departure from the Philippines.
  • Financial Proof: Bank statements demonstrating sufficient funds for the duration of the stay.
  • Letter of Invitation: From a Philippine-based company detailing the purpose and duration of the visit.
  • Company Registration Documents: Proof of the inviting company’s legal status.
  • Employment Verification: Letter from your employer confirming your position and the purpose of travel.


Student Visa (9F):

Purpose: For pursuing educational studies in the Philippines.


Requirements:

  • Notice of Acceptance: From a recognised Philippine educational institution.
  • Endorsement from the Department of Education: If applicable.
  • Proof of Sufficient Funds: To cover tuition and living expenses.
  • Medical Examination: Including a chest X-ray and laboratory reports.
  • Police Clearance: From the applicant’s country of residence.


Pre-Arranged Employment Visa (9G):

Purpose: For foreign nationals employed by a Philippine-based company.


Requirements:

  • Employment Contract: Duly notarised.
  • Alien Employment Permit: Issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
  • Company’s Incorporation Documents: Proof of the company’s legal status.
  • Proof of Applicant’s Qualifications: Relevant diplomas and certificates.


Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV):

Purpose: For foreign nationals seeking to retire in the Philippines.


Requirements:

  • Proof of Age: Applicant must be at least 35 years old.
  • Deposit: A time deposit in a Philippine bank, the amount of which varies depending on the applicant’s age and retirement option.
  • Medical Examination: Conducted in the Philippines.
  • Police Clearance: From the applicant’s country of residence.


2. Application Procedure

  • Submission: Applications should be submitted to the nearest Philippine embassy or consulate.
  • Processing Time: Varies by visa type and applicant’s nationality; it’s advisable to apply well in advance of your intended travel date.

Important Considerations

  • Visa-Free Entry: While Some African countries can enter the Philippines without a visa, it is recommended to apply for one before entering the country to avoid potential issues on arrival.
  • Passport Validity: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and contains blank pages for visa stamps.
  • Health and Safety: Stay informed about any health advisories or vaccination requirements before traveling.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Familiarise yourself with local customs and regulations to ensure respectful and lawful conduct during your stay.
  • Have your proof of accommodation, proof of exit and proof of financial means documents printed out and ready to present at immigration.
  • It is recommended to enter and leave the Philippines via major airports.
  • Carry between $1000 to $2000 dollars cash incase of any unexpected complications during your travels.
