1. Visa Types and Requirements

Tourist Visa (Short-Term Visit Pass):

Purpose: For pursuing educational studies in Singapore.

Requirements:

• Offer Letter: From a recognised Singapore educational institution.
• Proof of Sufficient Funds: To cover tuition and living expenses.
• Medical Examination: Including a chest X-ray and laboratory reports.
• Police Clearance: From the applicant’s country of residence.

Work Passes:

Purpose: For foreign nationals employed by a Singapore-based company.

Types:

Employment Pass: For professionals, managers, and executives earning a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 4,500.

S Pass: For mid-skilled workers earning a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 2,500.

Work Permit: For semi-skilled workers in specific sectors.

Requirements:

• Employment Contract: Duly notarised.
• Company’s Incorporation Documents: Proof of the company’s legal status.
• Proof of Applicant’s Qualifications: Relevant diplomas and certificates.

2. Application Procedure

Submission: Applications should be submitted to the nearest Singapore embassy or consulate.

Processing Time: Varies by visa type and applicant’s nationality; it’s advisable to apply well in advance of your intended travel date.

• Passport Validity: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and contains blank pages for visa stamps.
• Health and Safety: Stay informed about any health advisories or vaccination requirements before traveling.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Familiarise yourself with local customs and regulations to ensure respectful and lawful conduct during your stay.
• Have your proof of financial means, proof of accommodation, proof of exit printed out and ready to show at immigration.
• It Is recommended to travel via air to and from major airports in Singapore.
• Travel with between $1000 to $2000 cash incase of any unexpected complications during your travels.

Singapore has an official e-Visa system managed by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). However, individual travellers cannot apply directly for an e-Visa through the ICA website. Instead, visa applications must be submitted through a local contact in Singapore, such as a citizen, permanent resident, or an authorised visa agent. These local contacts can apply on behalf of the traveler via the Submission of Application for Visa Electronically (SAVE) system.
